I have recently returned to the UK having spent a year in Italy. I was living in a region in the north eastern corner called Friuli. This is an area I feel really at home in and I hope to return there as soon as it becomes possible. I am lucky in that I am able to practise my Italian language skills with my Grandmother. I am also having tuition to help me work towards a CILS qualification. I would then like to look at the certificates required to do translation and interpreting.

I am working on some cool new sections to add to the site. I am hoping to add areas for Bee keeping and all things Italian soon.

I started learning the Python language a few years ago through work and really enjoy working in it. I have learned other languages such as C, Pascal, Perl and recently also Java but I most enjoy Python. I find it is a language which I can write most freely in. I will be putting some details here of libraries I have used and also some code snippets showing how I have used them. Hopefully this will add to the many examples with extra real world usages.

My interest in Bee keeping is a recent discovery and I am just starting out. I have one hive at the moment but I will be adding to this in the next season. I started my first colony off this year after taking part in a 9 week evening class run by John Everett of Applebee. He has many colonies and is also one of the few Master Bee Keepers in Norfolk.

Another of my many hobbies is photography. I have always enjoyed taking photos and I have two online galleries. The first is where I place photographs which I hope to sell. The second is where I place all the rest of my photographs which are just for people to view and enjoy.

I also have started to get interested in radio. I have always been interested in electronics and science. So when a friend started talking to me about it, I was fascinated. I have yet to acquire a license to transmit but I will be working on that soon. You can read all about my experiences in my radio section
