Here are some of my interests at the moment:

Cycling

Road cycling is my main sporting passion and I regularly venture out on a bike on training rides. The area I live in at the moment has varied rides available allowing me to alternate between flat routes and mountain routes. I also like to watch ProTour cycling events either on TV or in person.

I have in the past had a couple of attempts at racing, but more training is required before I will have another go....

Guitar

I started learning to play the guitar while still at high school and had the good fortune to be taught by Jim Knights. I have never had the confidence or ability to play live in a band, but I enjoy playing none the less. Continued influences for me are predominantly Jimi Hendrix, but also Jimi Page, Santana, Joe Satriani, Gary Moore, Dave Navarro and others.

Photography

Another weakness is trying to capture a memory with a camera. I have a gallery online containing a selection of images from places I have been etc. As with all my interests, I am constantly resisting the urge to buy some new item!

Computers

I have been working in IT for a number of years. I started out wanting to build wooden boats, but at the time there were few jobs to be had nearby, so having been interested in computers for a few years I entered the IT world. Through working with various systems, I enjoyed learning new aspects. Early on a friend provided me with a Debian GNU/Linux (slink) install CD and I have been using Debian GNU/Linux on my PC's ever since.
